Instant pot brand is expanding into every aspect of the kitchen. We own a multifunction cooker, and air fryer and now this frother. I now associate the brand with high quality products. This frother doesn’t disappoint. It is quiet, fast and has 4 functions. It does a great job frothing milk. The only reason i gave 4 starts instead of 5 for ‘easy to clean’ is because the instructions say to be careful with electronics when cleaning it. Therefore we remove the rotating whisk, wash it by hand and use a wet paper towel to wipe the interior.
Unfortunately i had to replace it twice (1st handle was loose and second the paddle wouldn’t click in place). The third was a return because the paddle on this one wouldn’t click in place. I would have kept the one with the loose handle but was afraid it might eventually fall off. The reason why i’m giving it 5 stars is because it’s easy to use (4 separate buttons for each different setting), easy to clean and the milk comes out quickly and perfect-just the right amount of froth & heat. I think i just got unlucky with the ones i got and would give this frother a chance.
Trial and error but just follow the instruction manual for a delightful milk foam every time. Here are a few tips:- oat milk is my favorite. The perfect foam on the hard foam setting- cow milk foams like crazy. Do not fill past the appropriate max line, whether you are doing cold foam, warm foam or just warming milk – check your settings and check your lines. As a higher-end kitchen appliance, if you love your machine it will love you back.
Works well to heat and froth milk/half & half/cream. Heats and froths a full volume of refrigerator temp milk much more quickly than i was expecting for a 110v appliance. Does a good job making foam and heated milk for various coffee drinks though to be honest i haven’t really tried the settings other than the default which makes good volume of foam and a good amount of warm milk – haven’t felt the need to change the setting. The size/shape fit well on the counter and don’t take up a lot of space. The controls/electronics/heater are part of the vessel, meaning that the base plate is only for heating and is therefore much smaller than other units with the controls and elements in the base. This does men that the vessel is a little bulkier than just a plain insulated cup, but not so much that it makes any functional difference. I actually like this design better than some others that i looked at with the controls in the base. It’s just much better sized for a residential counter. The handle is nicely ergonomic with rounded edges and a gentle top curve, allowing the contents to be poured easily. It is well insulated so the contents stay hot/frothed, but the user doesn’t get burned.
I bought this during a christmas sale. I’ve used this to froth soy milk, and lactaid. It makes awesome foam, both cold and hot. It cannot froth oatmilk though. You can put a small amount of flavored syrup or matcha powder in it to make flavored foam. Don’t put too much, or the milk won’t froth. It’s a bit awkward to clean given that the whole machine can’t be submerged. I just gently swish a little soap around with my hand, and rinse mine. The whisk can be removed to be thoroughly cleaned. This all takes only a minute to do, so i can froth milk while getting ready, add it to my cold brew, clean the frother, and head to work quickly.
I needed a new frother, and i got this one because it has multiple settings, and i thought the shape was cute. it definitely froths well. It has one setting for light froth, and one for heavy froth. I cannot tell the difference between the two settings when i use them. The milk for the drink in my photo was set on light froth. When i use light froth, my milk comes out with probably 95% froth, and just a tiny bit of warm milk. Exactly like it does if i use the heavy froth option. And when i use the “warm milk” setting, the milk comes out barely lukewarm. The worst part is that because the tank is so tall, the lower fill lines (which are the ones i need to use 99% of the time) are almost impossible to see when filling, even in a well-lit room. When i tip the milk jug to pour it casts enough of a shadow that the lines disappear. So i have to either stand at a really awkward angle and cock my head just right…or use a flashlight. That’s why i only give it 3 stars for “easy to use.
- Does what it says, but could be warmer.
- Works well, but TOO well.
- Delicious warm milk
- Makes delicious whipped cream!
- It makes your coffee or tea even more delightful!
- Almost “perfect”here’s what you should know, though
Others have said this but there goes. It’s simple and does a great job. We’ve gone through i don’t know how many wand style frothers and this is so much better. But there are some things that are frustrating about it. – don’t froth with the lid on. At least in our experience the lid design actually catches the frothing milk and causes it to overflow and spit from the spout. – trust the max fill line for frothing. When we tempt fate with even an extra 1/8′ it froths over. – don’t get the outside wet if you can avoid it. If you get water in it – i’m not sure if it’s via the panel or the bottom – the heating element won’t work.
It’s honestly great gets the job done makes life easier. Definitely easy to clean but could be hotter. The warm milk option is honestly great. I’m using 2% milk and it kind of gets too frothy like not in a bad way but not in a good way. Honestly it’s a me problem. It heats it up to a good temperature i’m just extra. Truly ties up real good coffee in the morning. It’s easy to clean i was kind of scared of getting it wet first but got over that. Use a good sponge and light dish soap. I like to let the spinner soak in soap water in a bowl and then brush it with nice hot water. No rust and it seems to be good. No weird burnt milk leftovers. Honestly it’s pretty plain and simple and gets the job done.
This instant milk frother/steamer from the makers of instant pot is top quite impressive. A bit more expensive than other brands, but comes with the reliability so the price point at $39 seems reasonable. This comes with basically two parts, the heating element with the plug-in and the carafe. There is a silicone seal on the lid which secures nicely as well as the small removable whisk in the bottom. I ordered this with the sole intention of making whipped cream for my morning coffee. I use the cold whip setting and it works great. Following the instructions, i fill to the minimum line, and after a few minutes, i have nice fluffy whipped cream. My only complaint, and it is really just cosmetic- but i’ve literally had this right at a month- and the print on the buttons are almost worn completely off. Other than that, and honestly that is really minor, but i really love this little frother. It is so quiet compared to another frother i own.
I purchased this frother because of the reviews and its price — much cheaper than the nespresso aerocino. I use it 2-3 times a day; i love my lattes. I have had it 3 months and thus far it has performed fairly well. It heats up my milk (2% regular milk) to a good temperature, which is a failing of the aerocino. I do notice if using higher fat content milk (i’ve been using a little lite egg nog mixed with my 2% regular milk lately), some sticking to the bottom occurs. I haven’t found it to be any more difficult to clean than any of the other similar frothers i’ve used. One does have to be careful with the whisk attachment as it does come off easily and can be a bit tricky to put on correctly. The machine will tell you if it’s not on securely by the sound it makes. I haven’t found this to be an unusual issue with this type of frother. It did stop working for me a couple times; perhaps water did seep into the motor.
